Lamar Smith
The poet was born in Jamaica Queens, New York on August 24th, 1999. He grew up in a household with a Christian background and is the youngest out of six siblings. Since a young age, he had a love for art, drawing many things such as cartoon characters and realism.
After graduating from high school, he fell in love with the art of poetry, giving him a way to express emotions that were hidden for a long time.
One person who motivated him to write was Tupac Shakur, who, in fact, was a poet himself. One of Tupac’s quotes that inspired him states, “Behind every sweet smile there’s a bitter sadness that no one can ever see and feel”.
Though Tupac was an inspiration to him, his great inspiration is God. He sees himself becoming an artist and aspiring poet in the future, releasing many more books with the help of Christ Jesus.

Hidden Emotions is a creative and expressive poetic book for those who may be looking for something to relate to in the areas of love, life, God, and family life. As humans, we experienced situations in life. We may want or have fallen in love and have struggled with having faith in God or probably have someone that hears us so badly that is difficult to find peace in ourselves. I wanted to write poems that people can relate to and show them that they are not alone with how they feel or what they have experienced.
This book displays my emotions, with themes that can relate to many people, such as loneliness, insecurities, introspection, solitude, misinterpretation, awareness, love, desperation, sadness, depression, abandonment, forgiveness, darkness, passion, delusion, and more.
